My entire Birthright experience was meaningful. However, if I have to choose one moment, I would choose the night we spent in the desert. When it got dark out we walked out into the desert with no lights, we were told our eyes will adjust to the darkness, and we had to be completely silent. Once farther out we were allowed to walk out on our own and just keep to ourselves. It was a time of true self reflection. This moment changed me and many others on my bus. It is extremely important for Jews to go on Birthright because it is a once in a lifetime experience. You truly find yourself and make friendships that will last a lifetime.
