I choose to celebrate Yom Kippur by fasting all day and spending the day at Etz Chaim for services all day until it was time to break the fast. I found that the services at Etz Chaim meaningful because there was a learning aspect for beginners through out the day. I broke the fast with my family. It was extra meaningful because my grandfather died a week before the high holidays. I have been present for the Yitzkor Services for my father who passed away in 2012 and this time I was able to be present for my grandfather as well.
