Everyone knows that Jews love to eat – but we also try to make eating a spiritual experience. One of the ways is by washing our hands before breaking bread and making a special blessing. The goal isn’t only for cleanliness – but rather to elevate the experience of eating from a mundane physical act to a spiritual experience.
- Take a picture of you washing your hands
- Wash your hands by pouring water from a cup three times, first onto your right hand, and then onto your left.
- If you're inclined to recite the blessing, you can find it here.
- If this was your first time, how did you feel? If not, please share with us why you enjoy washing your hands before eating bread.
